When God Seems To Be Late

“I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land” Exo 23:29-30

You would have made many prayer throughout this year, and even years before. You pray hard. You pray intensely and you fast. You are desperate for God to answer your needs but He doesn’t seem to be moving. Let me assure you today that our God hears our prayers and He remembers His promises to us because His is alive. God’s not dead. He is faithful. He is almighty and He is Emmanuel God.  But why at times God seems slow or late in answering our desepate needs? Today I want to you to know that God will and God can use delays in anwering our prayers to prepares us in three specific ways.

First, He builds our character, fortifies our faith and strengthens our ability. Struggling in prayer has a way to mould our character. Faith put under fire will be refined. Partial victory will give us the abilites and determinations for greater breakthrough.

Second, God gathers and prepares those around us. He is more than able to answer our prayers, but He wants to include others in and around our lives. God wants others to be impacted because of you. God wants others receive the blessing because of you. And He does that by preparing those around us before anwering our prayers.

Third, He prepares our environment for total victory. When God seems late in answering our prayers, He may be changing and transforming the environment for us. If we get our answer too quickly without a proper environment, it will do more harm than good.

Finally, there lies a danger in time of waiting for God to answer our prayer. We may begin to live a life of mixture with the world in time of need and desperation. We may begin to compromise and make covenant with the world.

As you wait in desperation for God to answer your prayer, continue to stand strong in your faith. Pray that God will help you to be committed and dedicated when you are surrounded with enemies in your life. Pray that in time of delay, you will not lose hope. Pray that in the midst of being mocked and ridiculed by others when God is not answering your prayer, you will continue to trust Him. Pray that we will stand strong as man and women of faith in such time of difficulties.
