Psalms 127:3-5

3 Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. 4 Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. 5 How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!”

Our children can be strong is all area in life whether mentally, spiritually or emotionally. They can strong and faithful irrespective of the challenges and circumstance in 21st Century if they are train up in accordance with the truth of the Bible.

As parents, we need to understand the fact that our children are heritage from the Lord and embrace the responsibility of bringing them up in the Lord. Children, whether spiritual or natural are given by God to fulfill His purposes and His agenda on earth.

The Bible uses the arrow as a symbol for children. An arrow is made up of three parts: the iron head, wooden shaft and feather fletching. An arrow is not to be a collection of display, but be shoot out to hit the target. In order for the arrow to travel against all stress of wind and hit the mark, it must be straightened and strong. This speaks of the character and attitude of the child. In order for the iron head to pierce through the target, it must be sharp and not dull. This speaks of the ability, competence and the anointing of the child.

According to 1 Thess 2:4-12, Apostle Paul gives us four principles to build a strong and faithful generation. First, we must embrace our divine mandate to build with authority and blessing (vv.4-6). Second, we need to nurture them as gentle and care as a mother, and as firm as a father (vv.7;11). Third, we need to impart our lives by leading them to experience God as we experience it (v8). Fourth, we need to connect them with God’s ultimate purpose so that they will not be lost or purposeless (v12).

When they hit the mark, there is going to be a rejoicing. There is nothing more exciting and exhilarating than hitting the mark and have dominion over the workplace, marketplace, community, family.
